For this reason, the colour displayed on screen should not be considered an exact representation of the finished fabric.

The same dye can appear differently across silk, cotton and linen because each fibre and fabric construction absorbs and reflects colour in its own way.

Custom-dyed fabric is fabric coloured to a selected shade rather than being limited to ready-made colours. With Fabriculture, you choose a dyeable fabric, explore the available colour options, set your yardage and add the configured fabric to your cart. This makes it easier to plan a specific colour direction for garments, interiors, costumes, collections and other creative projects.
QCan I order custom dyed fabric in a specific colour?

Yes. You can select a shade from the configurator, enter a HEX or Pantone reference, or upload a JPG or PNG colour reference. Digital references are useful for communicating your target colour, but the final dyed result can vary because fibre, fabric construction, dye behaviour, lighting and screen settings all affect appearance. For important colour decisions, a physical reference or swatch is the best guide.
QHow do I choose the best fabric for custom dyeing?

Choose your fabric based on the finished look, hand feel, drape and purpose of your project. Silk can suit fluid garments and lustrous finishes, cotton is a versatile option for breathable everyday and fashion projects, and linen brings natural texture with a relaxed character. The same custom colour may appear differently on each fabric base, so consider the fibre and construction as part of the colour decision.
QWhat is the minimum quantity for custom dyed fabric?

The configurator starts at a minimum order of 10 yards and lets you increase the quantity in 10-yard increments (10, 20, 30 yards and so on). Your selected fabric, price per yard, quantity and estimated total are shown together in the order summary, so you can review the configuration before adding the custom-dyed fabric to your cart.
QHow long does custom fabric dyeing take?

The configurator shows an estimated production time of 3 to 5 weeks. Timing can depend on the order requirements, colour discussion and production workload. If you have a larger, unusual or time-sensitive requirement, contact Fabriculture before ordering so the project can be reviewed and the timing discussed.
QWill my custom dyed fabric colour look exactly like it does on my screen?

Not necessarily. Monitor calibration, brightness, colour profiles, lighting and the underlying fabric can all change how a colour appears on screen compared with physical fabric. Treat the online colour information as a helpful visual direction rather than an exact colour guarantee. For critical colour matching, use a physical reference or request a swatch before committing to a larger order.
